If you are unfamiliar with the Bracco Italiano breed, please review the following important information about this wonderful breed of dogs:

  • First and foremost, the Bracco Italiano is hunting dog. They possess the same hunting dog charactersitics (high energy, intelligence) as other familiar breeds in the U.S. such as Weimaraners, Vizslas, German Shorthair Pointers and Wirehaired Pointing Griffons.
  • The Bracco Italiano needs consistent training and regular exercise and is not suitable for apartment or townhouse living.
  • These dogs are happiest with a consistent job to do. A bored Bracco Italiano will be a destructive and annoying dog!
  • Bracco Italiano generally get along with other dogs. They also get along well with children. They will not get along with your pet birds!
  • Your Bracco Italiano will need a lot of training especially in the first two years of it's life.
  • Braccos bark. They can sound as loud and throaty as a Bloodhound.
  • Braccos drool. Some are worse than others, but they are more slobbery than some breeds.
  • Braccos shed. If you don't want a breed that sheds, get a Poodle.
  • Braccos hunt. They hunt birds most naturally, but they hunt rabbits, squirrels or anything else that happens to be small and in their environement. Treasures to them may be gross things to you!

Our Questionnaire

Basic Requirements

Our goal to place each puppy in a home where it will be cared for and loved for the remainder of its life. For this purpose, we are selective as to where our Bracco Italiano are placed.

Puppies come with a written and signed contract outlining our expectations of the new owner and our health guarantee. Please note you must be available to pick up your puppy in person. We do not ship puppies.

In the event an owner finds it necessary to place his/her dog in another home, we will be given the first opportunity to reclaim dog or to assist in locating another suitable home for the Bracco Italiano. We not sell puppies as breeding stock unless the new owner has a proven track record breeding and competing with dogs. Most puppies are sold with the understanding that the dog will never be bred.

Puppies

We generally choose puppies for their owners so there is not a "pick" process according to who applies first. We will take requests for specific gender or color (orange/white or brown/white) but cannot guarantee a specific combination of traits will be available.

Puppies will not be available before 8 weeks of age. No exceptions.
